Engineering and Purchasing to select our preferred
suppliers during part source selection process and
to develop/finalize parts specifications. Will
be the key technical interface person between suppliers
and L-3 Communications Telemetry-West. Visit
supplier sites to help create/audit supplier processes,
build milestone plans, perform pre-cap inspections/buy-offs,
and offer technical support to the supplier to ensure
order quality and delivery targets. Will lead/participate
in supplier “Total Quality” improvement
teams, manage on-time deliveries and reduce costs. Participates
with supplier in FMEA, Process Capability, Control
plans, measurement systems, sub-supplier qualification,
supplier part approval process, plans supplier qualifications
and manages supplier development projects. Provides
expertise in quality systems, business process, and
manufacturing improvements as well as quality tools
and training. Assist with root cause errors and works
with suppliers and L-3 to effectively implement the
appropriate corrective actions.
Required: BS degree
in Engineering or similar degree, MA or PhD in Engineering
preferred; 10+ years experience in electronics manufacturing/integration
environment (space/military environment is a plus). Must
have a solid track record of experience managing new
product introduction and managing the transition of
production at EMS providers. Experience in an
ISO 9000/AS9100 certified company with PCBA/SMT/IPC
610 D is a must. Microelectronics fabrication
experience required. Must be proficient in supplier
or production line improvements process; excellent
written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills;
demonstrated skills in managing time, performing multiple
tasks simultaneously, team leadership in “root
cause” analysis and “corrective action” implementation. This
position requires travel up to 75% of the time and
the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
