The ENTR is a miniature (approx. 3"x5"x1") receiver, decoder, decryptor which is a proposed member of the Joint Tactical Terminal (JTT) family of tactical receivers. It is designed to receive classified intelligence data over the TRAP Data Dissemination System (TDDS) and/or the Tactical Data Information Exchange System-Broadcast (TADIXS-B), and/or the Tactical Information Broadcast System (TIBS). These broadcasts are transmitted worldwide from UHF satellites or high flying aircraft. They provide, in near real-time, global and theater surveillance information for the purpose of cueing sensors and for integration into databases at various remote operational field locations.

The ENTR functions in conjunction with a host computer by plugging directly into the computer's chassis via its S-Bus (UNIX), or PCI (desktop/laptop) or cPCI (ruggedized) interface.

The ENTR card contains four separate RF receivers, two types of demodulators, Viterbi decoder (K=7 and K=9), and an NSA certified programmable decryption device called "Cornfield".
