VCS700 - Video Compression System
Airborne Telemetry
The VCS700 is our latest offering in flight
proven video compression equipment. The VCS700 has been
successfully flown on UAV’s, launch vehicles and
test aircraft. The VCS700 utilizes Wavelet compression
which provides very high compression ratios with excellent
image quality. Wavelet is better suited than JPEG or MPEG
to systems which are susceptible to link drop-out. Other
applications are virtually limitless … BIA/BDA for
munitions, surveillance capabilities for UAV’s, cockpit/cabin
video for aircraft, launch vehicle visual verification
of deployment of satellites, general reconnaissance. Contact

AIR UNIT

ABU700
|
Standard base unit for the airborne portion
of the VCS700. The VCU700 contains the power supply,
the programming ports, the TM data interface and the
formatting circuitry for the unit. In addition, the
basic VCU700 contains one VCM710 video interface module.

| VCM710/VCM711 |
Video interface module for
four separate video inputs. Inputs are multiplexed
prior to video compression. Additional VCM710’s
can be added to the VCU700 to provide full sample rate,
non-multiplexed video for multiple channels. The VCM711
has time stamp inputs in lieu of TM data. |
| DSM710 |
Video storage module which
allows the compressed video from one VCM710 module
to be stored. Provides 64 MB to 128 MB of storage. |
| CEM630 &BLK610 |
Encryption module using the
KGV-68B encryption engine, plus a power filter for
a telemetry transmitter. Requires NSA approval for
use on specified program. |
| DCM610 |
Spacer module used to replace
the CEM630, typically for foreign sales where the footprint
of the domestic encoder must be maintained. |
| GROUND UNIT |
| VEU700 |
The VEU700 is a PCI card
which provides the video expansion (decompression)
for one video channel.
Multiple channels of video expansion require connecting
VEC710’s to a VEU700. The VEU700 also provides
a TM data output signal. |
| VEC701 |
This expansion card is like the VEU700,
except that it is the companion card to the VCM711, as
well as to the CVA700 airborne product. |

Additional video expansion
card which interfaces to the VEU700. |
