System Overview -- Visual Test System™ (VTS)

All the data, all the time. Like all L-3 products, the VTS is long on performance with a robust feature set that delivers the capabilities you need — from decommutating multiple 20+ megabit per second streams, to merging and archiving all data to disk, to sending complex processed data to strip charts.

The performance leader. The VTS leads the industry with the most advanced technologies, including use of the Microsoft COM specification, ActiveX, and OLE. And it features a single Multifunction Telemetry (MFT) module that replaces four separate dedicated ISA boards — so you can do more with less.

Scalable system solutions. When it comes to the Visual Test System, we can supply application-specific PC boards and VTS Software for you to integrate into your own system. We can deliver the system as complete laboratory bench test instrumentation. Or we can provide the system as part of an entire mobile ground station.

Development through deployment. Depending on your application, the VTS can be used from sensor integration and data acquisition system development through vehicle test, manufacturing test, and operations.

The right choice. User-Friendly — A Windows GUI and a project-based file system make VTS setup and operation quick and easy. Developer-Friendly — The VTS offers a robust Software Development Kit (SDK), well-defined file formats, and a standard network interface to easily bring data and control to and from your applications. Management-Friendly — As a widely fielded, proven COTS product, the VTS reduces program cost and minimizes risk.

An eye to tomorrow. VTS systems are designed to grow as projects mature, requirements expand, or technology advances. You can expand your configuration by adding additional identical streams and new stream types and by taking advantage of new software features. Bottom line: the VTS is an expanding architecture system, not a sealed box.
